Premium Sound was founded in 2016 and has grown from a small store in Maida Vale to an established hi-fi specialist in Kensington. What began with a carefully chosen selection of components has evolved into a destination for music lovers, backed by a team that genuinely loves what they do.
We've always tried to do this the same way: keep the range tight, keep the advice honest, and give people enough time and space to actually hear the difference between things. Our customers' collections aren't built on a hunch — they're built on an afternoon in the demo room with a properly warmed-up system and the kettle on.
We currently operate from our showroom on Abingdon Road, just off High Street Kensington. Two floors, a dedicated demo room, a separate headphone area, and a network of UK distributors & manufacturers behind us. If we don't stock something, the chances are we can still get it in front of you within a few days.
Behind the shop is a warehouse a few miles away, an online store built for fast UK fulfilment, and a small team of installers we send out to homes across the country. Same advice, same care, whichever door you come in through.

Hi-fi is a small industry and we've collectively spent a long time in it. Between us we cover speakers, turntables, electronics, headphones, custom install, and the unglamorous-but-important bits like delivery, repairs, and a properly-answered email.

Two floors on a quiet side street just off High Street Kensington, showcasing a hand-picked range of hi-fi ready to experience, including speakers, amplifiers, source components and cables, along with a dedicated demo room and a separate headphone area with carefully matched DAC and amplifier stacks.
Our selection is deliberately focused. We stock the models we'd happily have in our own homes, and we make sure you have the time and space to hear them properly. You're welcome to drop in, or book a listening session in advance so the demo room is reserved just for you. Every demo is completely free, with no obligation to buy.
