A few things we get asked most often. If your question isn't here, our team is happy to talk it through.

Degritter is an Estonian audio technology company based in Tartu. The company develops, assembles and tests its record cleaning machines in-house, with metal parts and electronics also produced in Estonia wherever possible. Its focus is on automated ultrasonic vinyl cleaning with an emphasis on usability, repairability and long-term product support.

Degritter is best known for fully automatic ultrasonic record cleaning machines. The Mark II combines high-frequency ultrasonic cleaning, active water filtration, automatic drying and temperature management in a compact machine designed specifically for vinyl records rather than adapted from a general-purpose ultrasonic bath.

The Mark II uses four ultrasonic transducers positioned around the record to generate 120kHz ultrasonic energy in the cleaning bath. This creates microscopic cavitation bubbles that remove dirt from deep inside the grooves without brushes or other components rubbing against the record surface.

The Mark II introduced Power Drive 2.0 and Pulse Mode, which use short high-power ultrasonic pulses to improve cavitation while keeping average power consumption under control. It also uses a more precise frequency sweep and revised controls. Degritter says the updated ultrasonic architecture is around 20–30% more efficient than the original Mark I.

Yes. Once a cleaning cycle starts, the Mark II can wash and dry the record automatically. Cleaning water is continuously passed through a replaceable filter so removed debris is less likely to return to the record, while filtered-air drying offers adjustable fan speed and drying time. The machine also monitors water temperature and activates cooling when required.

At the heart of Degritter’s success is its sophisticated 120 kHz ultrasonic cleaning technology. Unlike traditional vacuum machines that can strip away fidelity or leave residue behind, Degritter uses microscopic cavitation bubbles to gently lift deeply embedded dust, film, and grime from the tightest groove walls. This hands-free, automated process not only restores lost micro-details and enhances transient response, but it also significantly reduces surface noise, offering a transformative listening experience.

Designed to sit proudly alongside high-end turntables and amplifiers, Degritter machines seamlessly blend luxury build quality with effortless functionality. Every aspect, from the intuitive digital display to the active water filtration system, is engineered for maximum safety and convenience. We are proud to offer Degritter’s premium cleaning solutions to our customers, ensuring your cherished record collection sounds exactly as the artist intended for years to come.
