Denon
Denon is a Japanese electronics company started in 1910 by Frederick Whitney Horn, an American entrepreneur. Denon produced the first cylinder audio media in Japan and players to reproduce them. Decades later, Denon was involved in the early stages of development of digital audio technology, while specialising in the manufacturing of high-fidelity professional and consumer audio equipment.
Denon made Japan’s first professional disc recorder and used it to record Emperor Hirohito’s voice. For many decades, Denon was a brand name of Nippon-Columbia, including the Nippon Columbia record label. The Denon brand came from a merger of Denki Onkyo (not to be confused with the other Onkyo) and others in 1939.
For everyone at Denon, Passion, Artistry, and Technology are more than buzzwords – they are part of the quintessential philosophy behind everything they do. These three elements and decades of innovation and engineering excellence have shaped their entire culture. Every detail of a Denon product is crafted around these elements with a single goal in mind: to maximise the entertainment experience.
Through a disciplined approach to design and production, Denon’s engineers ensure that only superb craftsmanship, precision engineering and impeccable performance go into every component. The solutions are often born through passionately studying examples from the widest array of imaginable fields – including physics, electronics, mechanical engineering, art and nature. Their constant quest to create the perfect entertainment component has given them invaluable inspiration for not only the most powerful technical solutions, but also the most convenient features to satisfy a diverse set of entertainment needs. That is why Denon is willing to tirelessly transform it’s creative ideas into leading innovations within the industry.
Denon’s Legacy of Firsts and a 100-year history of delivering powerful audio and visual experiences mark the company’s path into the future. They treasure their legacy and use it to inspire and fuel a constant quest for perfection. They will also continue to celebrate the core strength of our products to deliver power, precision and performance. In addition, Denon is looking forward, evolving and constantly seeking to transform ideas into leading innovations.
