NEO is a Slovak brand operated by NEOstyle, based in Dohňany, Slovakia. The company began in 2002 with interior design and decorative products before focusing its business on the production and distribution of specialist high-end audio racks under the NEO name.

NEO specialises in modular furniture for serious hi-fi systems. Its racks combine substantial MDF shelves, solid metal supports and dedicated anti-resonance interfaces, with an emphasis on giving heavy or vibration-sensitive components a stable platform without making the furniture look purely industrial.

Hi-fi components can generate or react to mechanical vibration, particularly turntables, valve equipment and large transformers. A purpose-built rack adds greater load capacity, more rigid support and mechanical interfaces designed specifically for audio equipment, while also providing enough clearance and ventilation for larger components.

Tripod models use a three-pillar structure, while Quattron uses four supports and is intended for larger and heavier components. The choice is therefore less about one range simply being “better” and more about the size, weight and layout of the system you need to support.

NEO racks are modular, with different shelf heights available so the spacing can be chosen around the actual components in the system. This is useful when combining slim source components with taller valve amplifiers, large power supplies or turntables instead of being restricted to fixed shelf spacing.

Load capacity is one of the main differences between the various NEO designs. Standard Quattron shelves are rated up to 70kg each, while Quattron Reference uses thicker 40mm shelves rated up to 100kg, with dedicated Reference amplifier stands designed for even heavier equipment.

Premium Sound carries both the Quattron and Tripod families, including standard, double and Reference configurations. Seeing a rack in person can be useful for judging shelf spacing, finishes and overall scale before configuring it around a system, so availability of the particular NEO model or finish is worth checking with the Kensington showroom before visiting.
