Rotel
Rotel was founded by Tomoki Tachikawa in Tokyo in 1957. The company is still family-owned and operated, which helped ensure its heritage and brand values had been upheld throughout its 60-year history.
Rotel started off as a manufacturer of audio components for other companies, but soon diversified into creating products bearing its own brand name.
From the very beginning, Rotel has rooted its philosophy in the principles of musical fidelity, superb build quality, and affordability, which are prioritised above all else. This approach is the reason why many of their loyal customers still own Rotel products from decades ago. Many old Rotel devices maintain their value and are fully operational to this day.
One of the key aspects of Rotel’s amplifier design and what sets them apart from the rest is their emphasis on the importance of a high-quality power supply. Consequently, the company has invested in the development of advanced toroidal transformers in-house. Each of them is custom-built and designed specifically for the particular model in question with materials sourced from certified suppliers.
Unlike many other companies who outsource their production to third-party manufacturers in order to cut down costs, Rotel makes all of its products in its own factories with the utmost care, precision and attention to detail to ensure lasting quality.
