Klipsch launches new Reference series speakersadmin
US brand Klipsch’s best-selling 10 model range is here for its seventh generation.
Undergoing a diversity of significant upgrades, the new Reference range benefits from the trickle down of several higher-end technologies from Premiere models in perhaps their most extensive rehaul yet.
The 10-model selection is suitable across multi-channel home cinema and two-channel hi-fi applications and prices start from £275, with the top-end model coming in at £1499.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s on offer:
Three floor standing speakers (R-600F, R-800F and R-605FA),
Two bookshelf models (R-40M and R-50M),
Two centre channels (R-50C and R-30C),
Two powered subwoofers (R-101SW and R-121SW),
A Dolby Atmos height module (R-40SA).
The R-40SA height module adds overhead effects to existing surround speakers fed by Atmos-compatible receivers, whilst the flagship R-605FA floor standing speakers integrates up-firing Atmos-enabled speakers. So whether you’re looking to upgrade a current setup or put together a whole new AV system, you’re covered.
Other notable advancements across the varied range include Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) aluminium tweeters and larger, more superior versions of the brand’s edge-to-edge proprietary Tractrix horn driver. On top of all that, the new series boasts spun-copper thermoformed crystal polymer (TCP) woofers with steeper cone angles to promote enhanced crossover integration and a smoother response.
The elegant wood grain, scratch-resistant, vinyl-finished black cabinets feature enhanced bracing, metallic binding posts and allow for simple height channel integration via Dolby Atmos connections.
