Classic Valve Sound, Modern FiiO Engineering

A full-size all-valve amplifier built around a classic EL34 push-pull architecture.
The FiiO EA13 brings traditional valve amplification into a modern desktop and Hi-Fi system. Rather than using a hybrid design, its amplification stages are based around vacuum tubes, combining two NOS Sylvania PCF80 valves with four JJ Electronic EL34 power tubes. The result is a deliberately analogue-focused design created for listeners who value tonal richness, natural texture and an engaging sense of musical scale.
With up to 28 watts per channel into 8 ohms, the EA13 provides considerably more driving capability than many low-powered valve designs, making it suitable for a wide range of efficient bookshelf speakers and selected floorstanding models.

EL34 Push-Pull Performance

Class A push-pull operation combines expressive valve character with greater control and dynamic headroom.
The four JJ Electronic EL34 output valves form the heart of the EA13’s power stage, while the pair of NOS Sylvania PCF80 tubes handles the preceding amplification. This configuration gives the amplifier enough authority for energetic and complex recordings while retaining the smooth midrange and dimensional presentation associated with traditional valve electronics.
Custom high-bandwidth, low-noise output transformers are designed specifically for the circuit. Their internal vibration-control construction helps maintain a quieter background and greater stability, allowing bass to remain controlled while fine high-frequency detail comes through with clarity.

Precision Analogue Control

A stepped volume system keeps everyday adjustment accurate and consistent.
Instead of digital attenuation, the EA13 uses a high-precision stepped analogue potentiometer with 40 adjustment positions. This provides repeatable volume control while keeping the signal path entirely analogue. High-quality metal-film coupling capacitors and large Japanese NCC filtering capacitors are also used throughout the circuit to support stable power delivery and clean signal transfer.
The substantial chassis features a CNC-machined aerospace-grade aluminium front panel, giving the amplifier the solid construction expected from a full-size Hi-Fi component.

Flexible for Speakers and Headphones

Multiple analogue inputs make the EA13 easy to build into a traditional two-channel system.
Four RCA inputs provide room for sources such as a DAC, streamer, CD player or phono stage. Dedicated 4-ohm and 8-ohm speaker outputs allow appropriate matching with different loudspeaker loads, while a front-mounted 6.35mm headphone connection extends the EA13 beyond speaker listening.
This straightforward connectivity keeps the focus on analogue playback while giving the amplifier enough flexibility to become the centre of a compact or full-size Hi-Fi setup.

Valve Engineering You Can See

Mechanical VU meters bring a traditional amplifier aesthetic to FiiO’s modern industrial design.
Twin LED-backlit mechanical VU meters provide a visual indication of the music signal and reinforce the EA13’s deliberately classic character. Together with its exposed valve array and substantial metal construction, they give the amplifier a strong visual identity without distracting from its primary purpose: delivering an involving all-valve listening experience.
