Description
Because it’s a quantum leap in standard features, sound quality and price in a preamp that is sure to surpass your expectations. It’s the perfect product if you want a great two channel music system that integrates with your existing home theatre – without sacrificing sub-woofer functionality.
The Parasound P5 ensures that you can bridge the analogue and digital divide in these ever changing and mercurial multi-format days. On the digital platform – new technologies have changed the ways audiophiles connect to and enjoy their music. So, that’s why Parasound included a high quality DAC in the Parasound P 5 to widen your software playback options. The Parasound P5 features a Burr-Brown PCM1798 DAC with USB, optical and coax inputs. The coax and optical accept all sampling rates up to 192 kHz, 24-bit, whilst the USB input accepts up to 96 kHz, 24-bit.
On the analogue stage, turntables are enjoying a resurgence, and again Parasound responded by including a genuinely great and adaptable phono stage to accommodate MM & MC cartridges with a choice of load impedances (phono input for MM & MC cartridges with 100 Ohm or 47k Ohm load setting).
The connectivity is in abundance with a plethora of analogue balanced and unbalanced inputs for a myriad of sources, these are mirrored with the Parasound P5 output accordingly meaning it can suited to a host of Parasound amplifiers for the best performance – or other good quality pairings also. The beautiful front panel hosts a dedicated 3.5mm auxiliary input, along with treble and bass controls to suit your system requirements – and even is paired off with a dedicated headphone connection as well.
Additionally, the Parasound P 5 has a sub-woofer channel with 2 output jacks for dynamic 2.1 listening and seamless integration with your home theatre surround sound system. The addition of a balanced XLR sub-woofer output and variable low frequency and high frequency crossovers makes the Parasound Halo P 5 an amazing bargain.
So the question is; when you know it has the distinction of Parasound quality and reliability, with all these great features – would you buy an ordinary preamp when you can own the Swiss Army Knife of pre-amps?
