Description

Signature 10 SuperPack fitted with the Cadenza Black

The Signature 10 SuperPack is supplied in the box with a high-end Ortofon MC Cadenza Black cartridge worth £2,749 allowing you to achieve unrivalled sound quality, and save compared to when purchasing the cartridge separately.

The Signature 10 is a true high-end turntable designed by Pro-Ject Audio Systems. Designed as a more affordable, easier to accommodate version of the superior Signature 12, the Signature 10 uses many of the coveted design aspects of the flagship.

The large, beautifully finished plinth of the Signature 10 turntable is made from MDF, packed with metal granulate to create a heavy, non-resonant base for the turntable. This plinth then sits on four powerful magnetic feet, which are lined with TPE pillows, for effective decoupling from a hi-fi stand. The result is a successful combination of the ‘high-mass’ and ‘floating turntable’ design principles that were first successfully merged by Pro-Ject with the high-end Xtension turntables.

On top of the main plinth, the Signature 10 uses a mass-loaded magnetic sub-chassis, which is perfect for reducing resonance and noise transfer to the cartridge. The large, heavy main platter – taken directly from the Signature 12 turntable, rides on this sub-chassis, rotating on an inverted ceramic main bearing. The main platter itself is machined from a specially selected, resonance-optimised metal alloy, which is internally lined with damping material and topped with melted vinyl records. The turntable is finished with the Signature Record Puck as part of the package.

The external motor is powered by a high-tolerance speed controller, which also allows for easy switching between 33 and 45RPM. The motor rotates the platter via a purpose designed perimeter drive belt, which offers exceptional timing.

The striking 10″ Signature tonearm is a unique Pro-Ject design. Unlike anything else in the range, Pro-Ject’s Signature Tonearms are made from different metal and aluminium alloys and are tooled with ultra-precise diamond cutters on CNC machinery. Inside the tonearm tube, damping material is meticulously applied to add mass and acoustic integrity, but in order to keep the iconic toe-tapping sound that Pro-Ject is associated with, the tube is mounted on a special, oil-damped Uni-Pivot bearing. To further aid exact set-up, Signature Tonearms can have the VTA, Azimuth and Overhang easily adjusted. The use of a detachable headshell allows the Signature 10 to easily accommodate a variety of high-end cartridges, whether they’re for a specific use (such as Mono recordings) or to suit a certain musical style or genre.

Heavy metal granule plinth

The large and gorgeously finished plinth of the Pro-Ject Signature 10 Superpack Turntable is made of heavy MDF. The material is filled with metal granules. This creates a non-resonant base for the platter and arm assembly.

The plinth is then mounted on four magnetic feet. The feet are lined with TPE pillows that provide good decoupling from the shelf or stand. This provides the high-mass, floating turntable design preferred by Pro-Ject.

Magnetic sub-chassis

The Pro-Ject Signature 10 Superpack Turntable also comes with a mass-loaded magnetic sub-chassis. This chassis reduces resonance and noise pickup. Moreover, the large and heavy main platter is made of a specially machined resonance-optimized metal alloy.

The platter sits on top of the magnetic sub-chassis on an inverted metal bearing. As a result, the mechanism is very free-running and resists speed changes. Moreover, the platter is lined with damping material. Additionally, the top surface is coated with melted vinyl records.

External belt drive motor

The external motor is driven by a highly accurate speed controller. This also allows for easy touch speed switching, on this two-speed turntable. The Pro-Ject Signature 10 Superpack Turntable motor rotates the platter by an easily accessible belt which provides exceptional timing.

Signature tonearm

The Pro-Ject Signature 10 Superpack Turntable is fitted with the 10” Signature tonearm. This remarkable-looking tonearm is made of metal and aluminium alloys. The tonearm is made with ultra-precise diamond cutters on CNC machinery.

Moreover, the tonearm tube is filled with damping material that adds mass. Additionally, the tube is mounted using an oil-damped Uni-Pivot bearing. Lastly, for easy setup, the signature tonearms have, VTA, Azimuth, and overhang adjustments. As a result, most cartridge sizes can be accommodated.

Detachable headshell

The detachable headshell allows for easy switching between cartridges. As a result specialist cartridges can be fitted such as those specifically designed for mono or 78RPM records. However, this special pack comes with an Ortofon Cadenza black MC cartridge.

The Ortofon Cadenza Black MC cartridge

The Ortofon Cadenza Black MC cartridge provides the best of everything, with a Nude Shibata stylus and a boron cantilever. This provides an extremely low-mass stylus/cantilever system. Boron is very stiff and light and gives a remarkable tracking ability, particularly at high frequencies.

The nude Shibata stylus is narrow and comes to a sharper tip. This means that it can read more detail from the groove. They are also renowned for better channel separation.
