It is equipped with a smooth running belt drive and an aluminium platter with rubber mat as well as a new Thorens TP 71 tonearm which incorporates a detachable headshell and preconfigured AT 3600 cartridge.

Using the switchable integrated phono stage the TD 201 can be connected to an amplifier or receiver even if it does not have a specific input for phono devices.
