Noise Cancelling Headphones
Noise cancelling headphones provide a solution to the external noise that can occur from traffic, people, or other noises. They offer some advantages over your typical headphone designs. These types are available in two different variations. They offer excellent passive noise attenuation due to the nature of their design.
You can listen at much lower volumes without suffering a loss of audio quality or losing dynamics. Listening in this manner not only extends the life of your headphones, but it can preserve your hearing too.
The first type is a closed-back style. This creates a seal with the head, which prohibits environmental noise from entering the ear cup. If you’re using in-ear headphones, they can fit directly into the ear canal with a rubber or silicone tip that creates a snug fit. This naturally creates a seal that blocks out exterior noises, but it also has a dual purpose so that the sounds you are listening to don’t leak out. These types have passive noise attenuation through their styling and materials.
The second type of noise cancelling headphones offers additional noise cancellation technology which goes above and beyond the materials and nature of the headphones themselves. This type utilises active noise cancelling technology.
