Digital-Analogue Converters, often known as DACs, are designed to convert digital audio signals into analogue sound that can be played through an amplifier, headphones or active speakers. Whether you are listening from a computer, CD transport, network streamer, TV or smartphone, a good DAC can make a clear difference to the way your system handles detail, timing, dynamics and overall musical flow.
Many modern hi-fi systems already include some form of digital-to-analogue conversion, but a dedicated hi-fi DAC is usually built with better power supplies, more careful circuit design and higher-quality output stages.
